In a sharp react꧑ion to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi questioning PM Narendra Modi inaugurating new Parliament House, BJP took a “crybaby” jibe at the former.
Modi is set to inaugurate the newꦐ Parliament House on May 28, which coincides with the birthꦑ anniversary of Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar.
The NDTV repღort quoting BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said Rahul Gandhi "starts beating his chest" whenever there's a historic m﷽oment in the country.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had said that the President sওhould inaugurate the new Parliament building and not the prime minister.
"Why does this happen? When the country is progressing, he comes forward as a bad omen during auspicious times. He has such small thinking that he can't welcome such a historic moment when the nܫew Parliament building will become a temple of democracy," Bhatia was quoted as having said.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has also accused t൩he PM Modi-led government of "repeatedly disrespecting propriety" by not inviting the President and former President to the inauguration of theℱ new Parliament building and alleged that the Office of the President has been reduced to tokenism under the BJP-RSS Government.
"It looks like the Modi Govt has ensured election of Presid♔ent of India from the Dalit and the Tribal communities only for electoral reasons," Kharge wrote in 🥂a series of tweets.
"(Senior Congress leader) Jairam Ramesh had said it too. They were the ones dreaming about it, then they indulged in corruption and can't get anything finished on the ground, they are so useless; and when PM Modi makes their dreams come true, because it's in the interest of the country, even then they start chest-beating," Bhatia was quoted as having said.
