ဣJD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna has been sent to ꧑a six-day police custody, till June 6, in the obscene video tapes case on Friday.
The Karnataka Police arrested Revanna upon his arriva🔯l at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport in the earlier in the day. The Hassan MP is facing charges of rape and sexual assault.
Revanna was pr🅷oduced before the court after a medical examination at the Bow🤪ring and Lady Curzon Hospital.
The 42nd Additio🌞nal Chief Metropolitan Magistrate K N Shivakumat heard the remand application and objection argument from Revanna's adv♎ocate and remanded him to police custody.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT), Bengaluru poli꧅ce, and immigration authorities had prepared for his arrest after receiving information from Interpol on Thursday afternoon. He was taken into custody by the SIT upon arrival and subsequently interrogated in the connection with the allegations of sexually abusing several women.
Revanna had left the country on 𝕴April 27, a day after vo꧑ting in the Hassan parliamentary constituency. His anticipatory bail petition, now converted to a regular bail plea, is scheduled for a hearing today. A verdict on his mother's anticipatory bail plea, Bhavani Revanna, is also expected today.
Revanna, the JD(S) MP for Karnataka's Hassan constituency and grands🐈on of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, is the NDA candidate from Hassan in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
