The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches on Saturday at nine locations in Jharkhand’s West Sin🍸ghbhum district in connection with a CPI (Maoist) case involving the recovery of money and other incriminating materials, news agency ANI reported.
“During the searches at the premises of suspects and ꦕover-ground workers (OGWs) associated with the banned CPI (Maoist) group, NIA teams seized mobile phones, memory cards, SIM cards, and other evidence,” according to an official statement reported by ANI.
The case originated from the recovery of a 20-litre plastic can containing Rs 10.50 lakh in cash, along with a walkie-talkie, a Samsu👍ng tablet, a power bank, a radio set, a levy collection receipt, a pull-through, gelatin sticks, a neck band, Titan glasses, and other incriminating items belonging to Misir Besra, a CPI (Maoist) member.
“These material𝓀s, buried in forested areas between the villages of Husipi and Rajabhasa, were uncovered following the confession of an accused, Rajesh Deogam,” the release noted. The case was initially filed in March 2024 in Jharkhand’s Chaibasa district against five accused, and was later taken over by the NIA in July.
“Investigations led to the identification of certain suspects and OGWs allegedly involved in providing logistical support to those named in the FIR and other senior CPI (Maoist) cadres to further their unlawful activities,” the r꧅e💖lease stated.
Further investigations♓ are ongoing, the 🎶report said.
