Zoram People's Movement leadeꦰr Lalduhoma met with Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Wednesday to assert his claim to form the government, following th𝕴e party's victory in the assembly polls on Monday, securing 27 out of the total 40 seats.
Lalduhoma will💧 be sworn in as the Chief Minister on Friday, following the deliberations and planning undertaken by the party leadership, confirmed Raj Bhavan.
Lalduhoma, a former IPS officer with a noteworꩲthy background as the security in charge of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, convened a meeting on Tuesday evening with t🏅he newly elected party candidates and other leaders.
The agenda centered around the formation of the council of ministers and the ಌdistribution of portfolios, as disclosed by a party official. The Val Upa Council members, constituting the decision-making body of the ZPM, were also prese🙈nt at the strategic meeting.

The ZPM's resounding success in the state assembly polls on Monday resulted in the ousting of the incumbent Mizo National Front (MNF), ♛which secured only 10 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lagg🅺ed significantly with just two seats, while the Congress managed to secure only one. The polling for the 40-member assembly took place on November 7, witnessing a robust voter turnout, with over 82 percent of the 8.57 lakh eligible voters exercising their franchise.
