Kerala: Several Injured As Makeshift Christmas Bridge Collapses At Thiruvananthapuram

As per media reports, the incident In Thiruvananthapuram occurred around 9 pm 🐼on Monday when several persons got on top of tℱhe temporary Christmas bridge which failed to support their weight and slanted to one side, toppling those standing there.

In an unfortunate incident, a makeshift bridge colla🐻pse at Thiruvananthapuram's Poovar near Neyyattinkara injured several people on Monday꧒, officials said.

 Acco🎃rding to a senior officer privy to the matter, 7-8 persons were injured💫 in the incident with one of them, a woman, suffering a major fracture in her leg.

It has been rep꧂orted that the temporary bridge was set up as a part of the Christmas celebration so that people could cross over a wall to the other side to see a waterfall and a♚ nativity scene depicting the birth of Jesus as well as other decorations.

As per media reports, the incident occurred around 9 pm on Monday when several persons got on top of the bridge which could not support theiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚr weight and slanted to one side, toppling those standing 🎀there.

The bridge was just around five feet above the grouﷺnd and was meant to support a few people at a time, he said.

"However, several perso🐎ns climbed on to it simultaneously which res♛ulted in the accident," the officer said.

The injured were shifted 𒊎to nearby hospitals, h♓e added.
