In an unfortunate incident, a makeshift bridge colla🐻pse at Thiruvananthapuram's Poovar near Neyyattinkara injured several people on Monday꧒, officials said.
Acco🎃rding to a senior officer privy to the matter, 7-8 persons were injured💫 in the incident with one of them, a woman, suffering a major fracture in her leg.
It has been rep꧂orted that the temporary bridge was set up as a part of the Christmas celebration so that people could cross over a wall to the other side to see a waterfall and a♚ nativity scene depicting the birth of Jesus as well as other decorations.
About the incident
As per media reports, the incident occurred around 9 pm on Monday when several persons got on top of the bridge which could not support theiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚr weight and slanted to one side, toppling those standing 🎀there.
The bridge was just around five feet above the grouﷺnd and was meant to support a few people at a time, he said.
"However, several perso🐎ns climbed on to it simultaneously which res♛ulted in the accident," the officer said.
The injured were shifted 𒊎to nearby hospitals, h♓e added.
