Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren won a trust vote in the state assembly on Monday by proving majority with the support of 47 MLAs. A total 🌊29 MLAs opposed the trust motion.
The Champai Soren government—formed last week amid a major politic♓al crisis followin🤡g the arrest of its Chief Minister—took was given time till February 5 to prove its majority in the state assembly.
The state went throug🉐h a politic꧟al crisis when Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) chief Hemant Soren resigned as CM and was later arrested on January 31 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case.
Subsequently, state transpo🎐rt minister and JMM leader Champai Soren claimed the right to form the government and was appointed Chief Minister-designate on February 1 by Governor C P Radhakrishnan.
Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who's been arrested and claims he is the target of a conspiracy, was allowed t൩o participate in the trust vote. A special court in Ranchi granted him the permission despite strong objections from the Enforcement Directorate.
Jharkhand Assembly Numbers:
The ruling alliance has 47 MLAs in the 81-member house, where the majority mark is 🔯41. The BJP has 25 MLAs, and the AJSU, or All Jharkhand Students Uni💯on, has three. The NCP and a Left party have one each, and there are three independent MLAs.

Section 144 Imposed Near Jharkhand Assembly
Ahead of the upcoming special session of the Jharkhand Legisla🧔tive Assembly, the Ranchi district administration has implemented Section 144 of CrPC within a 100-metre radius of the assembly building.
According to 🌌an official order, the reﷺstrictions will be in effect from Monday at 8:00 a.m. until Tuesday at 10:00 p.m.
The order prohibits the gathering of five or more individuals,ܫ except for governme🧸nt officials, employees engaged in official duties, and participants in judicial and religious activities.
