After a prolonged dry spell, Jharkhand may receive scattered rain from Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The pre-monsoon showers (rain received between March and May) will continue tilඣl March 10, it said.

𒈔Thundershowers coupled with wind gusting at 30-40 kmph may happen in some areas on March 8, when the state celebrates Holi, Ranchi Meteorological Centre in-charge Abhishek Anand said. Jharkhand has faced a 100 per cent deficit in rains in the last three months.

"Pre-monsoon system is active over Jh♏arkhand, due to which the state might receive spells of scattered rain coupled with lightning till March 10. On March 7, light rainfall is likely over the western par🍎ts of the state," he said.

"On March 8, scattered thundershowers are expected in most parts of the state. Surface wind ൲gusting at 30-40 kmph is also likely in some pockets on t🎀hat day. However, this may not dampen Holi spirits," he said.

On March 9 and 👍10, rainfall may occur in northeast, southern and central parts of the state, he said, adding the sh💮owers may result in a dip in temperature by one to two degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature in Jharkhand has been two to four degrees Celsius above normal. Jamshedpur is reeling at around 37 degrees Celsius, about four notches above the normal, while Ranchi registered 32 degrees Celsius,🔥 about three degrees above normal.
