Tsunami warnings issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency🃏 (JMA) specifically targeted the coastal prefectures of Ishikawa, Niigata, and Toyama. This marks the first issuance of major warnings since the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March 2011. A major tsunami warning indicates the potential for waves exceeding 3 meters. The Meteorological Department has also cau♓tioned citizens to remain vigilant for the next two to three days, anticipating earthquakes with a seismic intensity of 7.
