The Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Amethi has rubbished Union Minister Smriti Irani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi'ܫs allegations that a patient was denied treatment though he was carrying the Ayushman Bharat Card and because Rahul Gandhi was one of the trustees of the hospital.
"It is a baseless allegation. We have treated 200 patients under the scheme so far," SM Choudhar♓y, Director, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, ꦍsaid.
"The concerned patient did not ♑bring the Ayushman Bharat card with him. Under this scheme, a patient cannot be admitted without the card."
PM Modi's fl🍬agship healthcare programme, Ayushman Bharat, covers about 10 crore poor families and entitles them to avail treatment up to Rs 5🍌 lakh at the tertiary level.
Irani, who had unsuccessful🍷ly𝄹 contested the 2014 elections against Rahul, has paid regular visits to Amethi over the last four-and-a-half years and is upbeat about her prospects in 2019.
PM Modi had also kicked up a storm on Saturday in Amethi, launching a sharp attack on Rahul and his father Rajiv Gandhi and said: "Y✃ou father had died as bhrashtachari number 1."
The Congres🌼s and other oppositio🐟n parties had condemned Modi's comment on the former prime minister. Amethi, along with Raebareli, goes to polls on May 6.
