Home Ministry To Chair High-Level Meeting On Chaos At Delhi Airport: Report

The Ministry of Home Affairs will chair a high-level meeting on Thursday amid the ongoing chaos at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. According to a report by India Today, the meeting would likely have a discussion on immigration and infrastructure and it would be convened by U𒊎nion Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla.

The meeting that will take place♌ at 11 am in North Block will see the participation of the Civil Aviation Secretary, senior officers of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Intelligence Bureau (IB) Chief, Chairman of the Airport Authority of India (AAI), senior officers of Immigration Department, officers of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and other officers of MHA, the media report adds.

On Thursday, a Parliame♏ntary panel would also take up the issue of congestion at Delhi airport with the CEO of airport operator DIAL on December 15 amid passengers facing long waiting hours, according to the committee's Chairman Vijayasai Reddy.

For the past few days, passengers continued to experience long waiting h෴ours at the Delhi airport. Some passengers took to social media and also shared pictures of the crowd at Terminal 3 🐓(T3) of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).     

In response to a tweet by a passenger, Delh💧i airport said that it has deployed officials on the ground to ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚassist the passengers and minimise any inconvenience.     

While complaining about the long queues, the passenger said there is a need for new terminals.  

On Tuesday, the country's largest domestic airline IndiGo issued an advisory for its passengers departing from Delhi Airport amid reports of congestion and c🐷haos at the Indira Gandhi International Airꦚport in the national capital.
