Chhattisgarh: 2 Election Personnel, 1 BSF Jawan Injured In IED Blast Day Before Voting For Assembly Election

The blast occurred in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district. It has been attributed to an improvised expl🎃osive device (IED) planted by the Maoists.

A day before Chhattisgarh goes to polls,൩ two election personnel and a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier were injured in a blast on Mo🍸nday. 

The blast occurred in Chhattisgar🦄h🍎's Kanker district. It has been attributed to an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by the Maoists. 

Chhattisgarh is one of the Maoist-affected states. Of the total 33 states, 14 have been declared as Maoist-affected, formally dubbed as 'Lef♍t Wing Extremism' (LWE) by the Union government. 

A police official told PTI that the blast occurred around 4 pm when four polling parties escorted by security personnel were heading to their respective polling ඣstations under Chhotebethiya police station limits. He ❀further told the agency that a joint team of BSF and district police had set out from Marbeda camp escorting the polling teams to Rengaghati Rengagondi polling station.

Near Rengagondi, a pressure IED exploded, leaving two polling personnel and BSF constable Chandraparakash Seval injured, said the official to PTI, adding that the injured were shifted to Chhotebethiya hospital for treatment where the🌊ir condition was said to be out of danger.

The rest of the polling teams have safely reached the Rengagondi polling booth🦹 which falls under the Antagarh assembly ꦿconstituency, reported PTI.

Chhattisgarh is holding the first of the two phases of polling on Tuesday. A total of 20 of the state's total 90 seats go to polls on Tuesday. The counting of votes will🌺 take place on December 3. 

Antagarh 𝓡is among the 20 constituencies which will go to polls in the first phase of two-ph🏅ase elections on Tuesday.
