One person has reportedly died in a boiler blast at the Indian Oil Corporation facility in Tamil Nadu's Chennai. Initial probe suggests the blast occurred during welding activity, repor🤡ts said.

Investigation is underway. 

In another incident from Chennai today, an ammoniܫa gas leak from a subsea pipeline i🍬n city's Ennore linked to a private fertiliser manufacturing unit hospitalised around 25 people.        

Officials on Wednesday reported symptoms such as shortn♏ess of breath and nausea among the affected people, who have been admitted to hospital.

Following the leak, at about 11.45 pm on December 26, an odour that led to severe disc💫omfort to people spread ﷽through air in north Chennai areas. Several people fell unconscious after experiencing 'burning sensation' in their throat and chest.

Many who were asleep wokꦚe up in panic and rushed out to alert neighbours, following which people came out on main roads unsure of what to do. 

About 25 people including children, who were residents of areas close t🦹o the fertiliser manufacturing facility were hospitalised. Most of them experienced unease, shortness of breath, nausea, and faintness.
