In a tragic incident in Hoskote, Bengaluru Rural, a 65-year-old woman named Siddagangamma lost her life, while 135 others were hospitalized in a s🍰uspected case of food poisoning. The unfortunate incident is believed to be linked to the consumption of an edible offering at a local place of worship. Authorities are ac⭕tively monitoring the situation as the Health department continues to investigate.

The initial findings indicate that a significant number of individuals had visited a temple in Hoskote town on Saturday, partaking in 'prasad' 🔯as part of their religious observance. Subsequently, several individuals reported symptoms such as dysentery and vomiting, prompting them to seek medical attention. Tragically, a woman exhibiting similar symptoms passed away after being admitted to a hospital on Sunday afternoon.

While suspicions point to the 'prasad' consumed at the temple, the investigation faces c🍎omplexities, as some affected individuals did not partake in the offering yet experienced adverse health effects. Authorities have taken statements from patients, acknowledging the challenge of establishing a definitive cause at this early stage.

The gravity of the situation is underscored by the significant number of admissions across various hospitals, prompting one facility to allocate an entire floor for the treatment of ICU patients. Responding to the severity of the incident, the police have registered a case under Section 278 (Making atmosphere noxious to health) of the Indian Penal Code against unidentified persons.
