Atiq Ahmed Killing: UP Government Forms 3-Member Judicial Commission

The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunda💜y constituted a three-me🎃mber judicial commission to probe the killing of gangster-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Khalid Azeem alias Ashraf.

Atiq and Ashraf were shot dead at point-blank range on Saturday nig🎀ht in Prayagraj as they were being taken to a medical college for a check-up. The duo were surrounded by police and interacting with the media when the incident happened. 

The commission will be headed by high court judge (retired) Arvind Kumar Tripat💃hi, and retired judge Brijesh Kumar Soni and former DGP Subesh Kumar Singh will be its members, officials said here.

The commission will have to submit its report to the government within two months, they said, adding the state home department has constituted🔜 the commission under Commission of Inquiry Act, 1952. Both Ahmad and Ashraf were shot dead in Prayagraj on Saturday night.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier ordered a high-level probe in෴to the sensational killings of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Khalid Azeem alias Ashraf in Prayagraj, officials said.
