A few weeks after a controversy surfaced over a Hindu oꩵutfit claiming the existence of a temple underneath the Ajmer Dargah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued the tradition of sending a Chadar for the upcoming annual urs.
The Prime Minister on Thursday handed over a ceremonial 'chadar' on the occasion o🅘f the 'Urs' of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
The cont🐠roversy erupted when an Ajmer court on November 28 decided to hear a petition requesting a survey of the Dargah. However, the Supreme Court has barred local courts from taking any action over such petitions filed in different parts of the country.

'Urs' is held every year at the shrine of the Sufi saint to commemorate his death anniversary. The annual tradition also involves the offering of ❀the ceremonial 'Chadar' by the Prime Minister. Traditionally, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs represents the Prime Minister during this significant occasion.
On Friday, The 'Chada💖r' was h💙anded to Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju who will be traveling to Ajmer on January 4 for the chadar offering ceremony.
Taking it to social media platform X, Union Minister of Minority A🌸ffairs Kiren Rijiju posted a picture alongside PM Modi and BJP's minority morcha president Jamal Siddiqui saying "This gesture reflects his deep respect for India's rich spiritual heritage and the enduring message of💃 harmony and compassion."
"I bring the chadar that PM Modi has handed over t♏o me for Ajmer Sharif Dargah... We all prayed and sought blessings. We are going there with PM Modi's message of brotherhood and for peace in the country... Tomorrow at 11 am, we will offer the chadar at Ajmer Sharif...", Rijiju further added.
Praising PM Modi and highlighting his continued chadar offering since 2014, Moinuddin Chisti's successor Syed Naseruddin Chish꧙ti said that the gesture reflected India’s commitment to religious unity and respect for all communities.
“This tradition, dating back to 1947, has been uph♏👍eld by every Prime Minister of the country," Chishti stated.
"We welcome the 'Chadar' sent by PM Modi. Since Independence, the Prime Ministers have been sending 'Chadar'. PM Modi has been carrying this tradition forward since 2014", he told PTI.
