In a significant development, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has declared an end to the era of street violence in Jammu and Kashmir, marking the dawn of peace in the Union Territory. Addressing a conference on Sufism, Sinha emphasized the positive shift, stating, "The street violence has e💙nded in Jammu an🤡d Kashmir. Those people are not seen anymore who were responsible for the street violence. I understand that they were victims of some people."
The Lt. Governor also shed light on the adverse effects of frequent strikes in Kashmir, which resulted in considerable losses for businesses and academic opportunities for the people. He emphasized the need to refrain from politicizing religious events, pointing to the successful conclusion of the Muharram procession in ✨Srinagar after 33 years.
Speaking on the importance of peace for development, Si🧸nha urged the populace to contribute to t♎he region's progress, stating, "When there will be peace, we can set new standards of development. There has never been, and never will be, any development in disturbed places."
Highlighting the positive impact of peace, Sinha noted 🐓that people can now venture out late at night for shopping and recreation without fear. He shared heartening anecdotes of life returning to normalcy, such as people going shopping at 10 pm or enjoying leisure activities along the banks of the Jhelum𝕴 River, according to PTI.
Moreover, the Lt. Governor commended the youth of K💖ashmir for their resilience and aspirations, noting their achievements not just at the local and national le꧙vels but on the global stage as well.
In a gesture of respect and solidarity, Sinha paid tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and other martyrs for their sacrifices in Karbala. He acknowledged the historic significance of the 8t๊h Muharram procession taking place on the traditional route in the Kashmir Valley after a long hiatus of 34 years.
