Ahead of the visit by a delegation from the opposition INDIA bloc to vio🤡lence-hit Manipur, Union Home Minister A🐻mit Shah took a jibe at the Congress and DMK and said that neither of these parties want good for the country. He was addressing a rally in Tamil Nadu, ahead of kick-starting state BJP President K Annamalai's state-wide 'En Mann, En Makkal (My Land, My People)' padayatra.
"When Congress and its allies, including the DMK, go to the people seeking votes, the public would remember the corruption, including the 2G scam and CommonWealth Games scam during the UPA regime," he said. He further called the DMK regime the "most corrupt in the🎶 nation" and said the BJP's yatra is an attempt to usher in politics of development and good governance in Tamil Nadu.
Shah also raised the issue of an accused person who is in jail continuing as a minister in Tamil Nadu. "Sta✱lin should be ashamed of retaining V Senthil Balaji, arrested in an Enforcement Directorate case and in jail, in the cabinet," the union minister said.
"Can a pe🐷rson inꦫ jail continue as a minister," he asked. "Should Senthil Balaji not have resigned? Even if Senthil Balaji resigns, Stalin will not accept it because he is afraid that all secrets will be disclosed."
Criticising the opposition's new alliance, Shah said that nothing would happen by changing the name of their alliance to INDIA. "Mod⛎i is the only leader who is working for the nation's♉ development," he said.
Amit Shah's remarks come at a time when the parliament is witnessing logjam over INDIA bloc's protest demanding PM Modi's comprehensive statement over Ma🎉nipur violence. 🅘Shah wrote to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge seeking cooperation from the opposition parties in the smooth functioning of Parliament.
A delegation of 20 INDIA bloc MPs will visit Manipur tomorrow to assess the ground situation and w♑ill make recommendations to the government after their visit.
