Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, who was arrested for his alleged role in the Delhi excise policy case, said that the probe agency cannot "break his spiritꦫ" by keeping him in their custody.
"Sir, you can trouble me by putting me in jail. But can't break my spi🌱rits, The British also gave trouble to the freedom fighters, But his spꦦirits did not break," he said in a tweet which came a day after he was sent to Enforcement Directorate's custody for seven days.
Sisodia was arrest꧟ed by the agency on charges of money laundering linked to the policy. The agency hꦗad sought for a 10-day custody to question the former deputy chief minister. The ED told the judge in court yesterday that there was a conspiracy behind framing the excise policy and Sisodia was part of the "money laundering nexus".
ED's counsel also claimed that Sisodia destroyed his phone, an important piece of evidence in the investigation. It was also alleged that Sisodia made false statements about the 'scam' and that the agency wanted to unearth꧑ the modus operandi of the perpetrators and confront him with the other accused.
Meanwhile, AAP accused the BJP-led Centre, alleging that its "only objective is to de🍷fame" his party.
