A vehicle drove into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans on W♎ednesday, killing at least 15 people and injuring several. As per CBS News, the car may have rammed through a crowd and many are feared to be dead.
According to AFP, FBI found a suspicious e♓xplosive device at scene of deadly accident.
The suspect has also died, law enforcement officials told the AP on the condition of anonymity.
CBS News reported that the vehicle headed towards the crowd at a high speed, befor🍸e the driver then reportedly got out and began firing a weapon🅠.
As per a New Orleans Police spokesperson, "Initial reports show a car may have ploughed into a group of people. Injuries a𓆏re unknown but there are reported fatalities."
“He was hell-bent on creating the carnage and the damage that he did,” AP quoted Police Commissioner Anne Kirkpatrick. She said police officers would work to ensure safety at the Sugar Bowl, indicating๊ that the game would go on as scheduled.
“I♌t was very intentional behaviorꩲ. This man was trying to run over as many people as he could,” Kirkpatrick said.
According to AP, there is no concrete update provided on the status of the driver, whether th😼ere was an ongoing threat to the public or offer a suspected motive in the fatal incident at the city's famed Canal and Bourbon St🅺reet early Wednesday.
