Contrary to his earlier stand on H-1B visa, United States of America’s president-elect Donald Trump re⛦cently took his side on the H-1B visa debate saying that he supports immigration visas for highly skilled workers. H-1B visa allows the entry of skilled workers from around the world to the US.

In an interv✤iew with the Ne🎐w York Post on Saturday, Trump said he has always liked the H-1B visa and hired workers through this program. “I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them. “I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program,” Trump said to the Post. In his first administration, Trump had restricted access to foreign worker visas and was critical of the program.

Supporting the H-1B visa, entrepreneur Elon Musk on X said: “Anyone – of any race, creed or nationality – who came to America and worked like hell to contribute to this country will forever have my respect. America is the ﷽land of freedom and opportunity. Fight with every fiber of your being to keep it that way!,”

The argument began when some technocrats of Silicon Valley and supporters of the anti-immigration movement criticised Trump’s decision to select Sriram Krishnan’s as a Whi☂te House policy adviser on artificial intelligence. Far-right Make America Great Again (MAGA) supporter Laura Loomer said💝: “We have to protect President Trump from the technocrats." Media reports quoted here saying: "Looking forward to the inevitable divorce between President Trump and Big Tech."

A user on X said on a post by Musk that H-1B visas could be “something that shouldn't exist,” to which Musk replied, “The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is bec๊ause of H1B.” Musk added: "“Take a big step back and F**K YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.”

Entrepreneur and politician Vivek Ramaswamy said that America꧂n culture is t𝓰o blame for US companies hiring skilled workers from other countries. "Our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence," Ramaswamy wrote in a long X post. "A culture that celebrates the prom queen over the math olympiad champ, or the jock over the valedictorian [the top student in a class], will not produce the best engineers," he added on X.
