According to PTI's ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚlatest report, the BJP source said that the next chief minister of Delhi along with the council of ministers is likely to take oath on February 20.
🃏The ceremony is likely to be held around 4:30 pm on Thursday at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan.
ꦗ Top BJP leaders, including chief ministers from the party-ruled states, are expected to attend the event.
The BJP’s legislative party meeting, initially scheduled for Monday, has been postponed, with sources stating that it will likely take place on Wednesday. During this meeting, the BJP 𒈔will finalize its choice for Chief Minister and other key cabinet members. Sources also indicated that the final details of the oath ceremony will be discussed at this gathering.
ꩵThe BJP returned to power in Delhi after over 26 years, securing a decisive victory in the recent Assembly elections. The results, announced on February 8, saw the BJP winning 48 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured just 22 seats.
The BJP’s victory marked the end of the AAP’s decade-long reign in the national capital, with the defeat of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal 🐲in the New Delhi constituency at the hands of BJP’s Parvesh Verma adding further significance to the win.
AAP criticises delay in announcing CM
ওMeanwhile, AAP continues to attack BJP’s lack of a CM face for the national capital. AAP leader and Delhi’s acting Chief Minister, Atishi, accused the BJP of being leaderless and unable to form a credible government.
🐼At a press conference, Atishi lambasted the BJP for the delay in naming the Chief Minister and the cabinet, claiming that the party had no vision or plan for governance.
🌠“It’s been ten days since the election results were announced. People thought the BJP would declare its Chief Minister and cabinet on February 9 and begin developmental works immediately. But it is now clear that they have no face to run Delhi,” Atishi said.
She further alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi 🃏did not trust any of the 48 BJP MLAs elected in Delhi and accused the party of lacking a clear direction for the future.
