Nissan India has begun local production of the upcoming Kicks SUV. Scheduled ܫto go on sale in January 2019, the car has been showcased at various events and certain dealerships have already begun accepting unofficial bookings for it.
The India-spec Nissan Kicks SUV is underpinned by the proven B0 platform that underpins the Renault Duster, Captur and the Nissan Terrano. It is being built at Nissan’s Chennai plant and the first one rolled out last Thursday on 6 December, 2018. The car’s exterior has been showcased a couple of time now and we must say it looks quite s🔜imilar to the international-spec model, which is smaller as it is based on the new Micra’s V platform. Although Nissan India has not been publicly unveiled the interior of the SUV yet, we expect it to be similar to the international version.
The Kicks is expected to get basic safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard. Top variants of the Nissan SUV may come with up to six airbags along with electronic stability control in higher variants. As for engines, the Kicks is expected to borrow the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines from the Captur. We will be driving the India-spec Nissan Kicks shortly. So stay tuned for our first impressions o𓆏f the SUV.
Nissan’s new Kicks is exꩲpected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh and will compete🥀 with the Hyundai Creta, the Renault Captur and the upcoming Kia SP Concept-based SUV.
