Honda has confirmed that the new CB300R wil♔l make its India debut on February 8. The Japanese bikemaker surprised Indian bikers last week when it annou♏nced its intention to the launch of the new streetbike in our two-wheeler space. Honda has also stated that the CB300R will be priced under Rs 2.5 lakh in India and if we had to make a guess, we expect it to be priced between Rs 2.3 lakh to 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the new motorcycle has already commenced across all Honda Wing World dealerships. When launched, it will compete against the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G 310 R and the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 (with respect to pricing).
One of the main appeal of the CB300R is its retrꦗo-modern styling and it’s part of Honda’s ‘Neo Sports Café’ portfolio. In general, the new 𒐪motorcycle looks like the scaled-down version of the Honda CB1000R. In terms of features, the bike gets an all-digital instrument console, LED headlamp, turn indicators and tail lamp.
Propelling the bike is a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that pumps out 30.9PS of power at ಌ5500rpm and 27Nm of torque at 7500rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed transmission and Honda claims a fuel economy figure of 30.2kmpl. The tubular steel frame rests on 41mm USD forks at the front and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is provided by a 296mm front disc with a four-piston caliper and a 220mm disc and a single-piston caliper at the rear. The Honda CB300R will be the lowest capacity motorcycle from the Japanese two-wheeler giant to be assembled in India.
