‘Friends’ actor Matthew Perry passed away recently leaving the entire world in a state of shock. Zac Efron, who worked with Matthew Perry in ‘17 Again’ was a huge fan of the actor and he expressed his gratitude towards him when he recently received his Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
While giving his speech after receiving his Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Zac Efron, said, “I want to mention someone who is not here today, and that is Matthew Perry, who was so generous and kind to me while we worked on ‘17 Again’. Collaborating with him and director Burr Steers — it was so much fun and really did propel me and motivate me in so many ways✃. It really pushed me into the next chapter of my career, and for that, thank you so much, Matthew. Thinking about you a lot today.”
Zac Efron mentioned that he was ‘eternally grateful’ to Matthew Perry. Even though the two actors didn’t share screen space together in ‘17 Again’, the two were playing the same character, and therefore they must have spoken a lot with each other to develop the character. Zac Efron mentioning Matthew Perry at such a huge occasion♓ in his life definitely meant that the ‘Friends’ star left a huge impact on the ‘High School Musical’ star’s life.
Matthew Perry’s death was not only traumatic for the fans but many close ones from the film, television, music and sports fraternity have also expressed how they had been impacted by his sudden demise. Matthew Perry passed away after he reportedly drowned 🧜in his hot tub at his residence.
Coming back to Zac Efron, the actor also spoke about how he was indebted to the makers of ‘High School Musical’ for giving him his career. “A long time before The Iron Claw, I spent a lot of time with [director] Kenny Ortega and [producer] Bill Borden – you guys were both instrumenta🎐l in giving my start in ‘High School Musical’ and for that I am eternally grateful,” he said.
“I still think about it every day. I sing the songs in th⛎e shower – Go Wild Cats,” he concluded👍.
