On Women’s Day here’s reminiscing how women have𒐪 carved their footprints in the area of OTT films and sho𝓀ws. On this special day here are some OTT titles that not only have epic performances but have also garnered a huge fan following.
‘Bombshell’
'Bombshell,' a 2019 film based on actual events, tells the storey of a group of women banding together to expose Fox News CEO Roger Ailes for sexual harassment. Bombshell garnered positive reviews, with viewers praising the performances of main actor🔥s Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie, who were nominated for a number of significant prizes as a result of their work. Jay Roach directed the picture, which was written by Charles Randolph.
‘Iris’
'Iris' is a 2001 critically praised film starring Judi Dench, Kate Winslet, and Jim Broadbent. The film is based on the actual life of Iris Murdoch and John Bayley, writers ඣand novelists. The plot centres around Iris Murdoch, a writer who meets John at Oxford University during her teaching job. Events take a lovely turn, and Iris and John embark on their road to a happily ever after. 'Hope', starring Veronika Kornienko, Aleksandr Kuzmin, Aleksey Morozov, and Viktoriya Isakova, is an espionage thriller set in the 1990s featuring a strong female heroine. The plot centres around Hope, a multifaceted and dynamic lady who has a hidden background dating back to her childhood and now leads a double life. She is mostly a lovely mother and wife to her unknowing family,𓆉 but she also has an unavoidable alter-ego as one of the most brutal and accomplished contract assassins wh💛o is determined to rescue her family and find her way out. Elena Hazanova developed the 16-episode series, which features some outstanding performances and a compelling narrative.
‘Mary Kills People’
Dr Mary Harris works in Eden General Hospital's emergency department to save people's lives. At night, however, she shifts her focus to a different practice. Mary moonlights as an underground angel of death alongside her boyfriend, a former cosmetic surgeon. They work together to assist terminally ill individuals to die on their own terms. As her world begins to collapse, things become more complex as the police begin to investigate them. Caroline Dhavernas, Jay Ryan, and Richard Short star in three seasons, each with six episodes. On IMDb, the series has a 7.5 rating. The show is streaming on Lꦰionsgate Play.
‘The Father’
'The Father,' directed by Florian Zeller, is a critically praised film. The narrative and acting of Anthony Hopkin's film were 🍰universally applauded. Anthony Hopkins plays an ill, octogenarian Londoner suffering from dementia. He feels even more abandoned when his only daughter Anne informs him that she is leaving for Paris. It is the relationship between the father and the daughter that has been depicted so brilliantly in this movie that it became one of the most talked-about films of the year. 'The Father' has an IMDB rating of 8.3 and is one of the most popular films of 2021. Hopkins even won the Oscar for Best Actor for this film. It is an emotional roller-coaster jouꦐrney for sure.
