She said, “I look at Instagram or social media and I keep thinking, it’s crazy. How far down we’ve gone into this sort of idea of what beauty is, and how perfect one has to be. I don’t think it’s cool and I don’t think that that’s something we should propagate at all.”
She recalled the time when was told that s🗹he loo﷽ks fine only when she is captured from certain camera angles. Mahira shared, “I have come from a place when there were no filters, there was just the basic thing of angles. People used to tell me, ‘Iss angle mein na naak badi lagti hai (Your nose looks bigger from this angle) I would be like, what? It used to affect me.”
She added, “There was a time when it was put iꦏnto my head that you should be shot from a particular angle and💎 there should be no low angles.” Despite this, Mahira decided to not get a nose job done and she is “glad that I didn’t do it.”
The actor believes that one’s craft should be such that after a point, the audience doesn’t pay attention to how one looks. She opined, “As an actor, it’s a fail on my part if people will look at me and say, ‘𝓀yaar iski naak moti lag rahi hai’ (Her nose looks big). After a while, they should forgeꩵt about my nose, my cheeks, my hair.”
Mahira also shared that even Shah Rukh Khan was told to fix his nose and s𓆉he is glad that h🤪e also didn’t do anything about it.
