Prasanth Varma Says That 'HanuMan' Is Culturally Rooted And Not Like Any Other Superhero Film

In a recent interview, Prasanth Varma revealed that 'HanuMan' is culturally rooted. He said that he always wanted to make a superhero film, but he d♚id not want to make it like Marvel or DC.

Ever since the trailer of Teja Sajja’s ‘HanuMan’ was released last year, the buzz around this Prasanth Varma directorial is increasi﷽ng with e💯ach passing day. There is considerable intrigue about the plot of the film. Putting all speculations to rest, Prasanth Varma has revealed that his story is rooted in culture and is not religious.

In an exclusive chat with Hindustan Times, Prasanth Varma reve🦂aled the inspiration behind ‘Hanuman’. He revealed that he always had wanted to make a superhero film. But he did not want to follow in the footsteps of Marvel or DC. He said that he wanted to make something that was rooted in Indian culture, so he looked into Indian history and drew inspiration from there.

Prasanth Varma said, “I always wanted to ♔do a superhero film. In fact, I wanted to become a superhero! (laughs) Since I couldn’t do that I thought, let me make a film. I didn’t want it to be a Marvel or DC-like superhero film but something indigenous and culturally rooted. The first thought that came to 🦩mind was Hanuman ji and I wrote the story. Then I got multiple ideas for various superheroes based on our itihaas (history) and it took off from there.”

The director is in Delhi to promote his film. He is bowled over by the response the film is receiving. Speaking about the buzz of his film, Prasanth 🐈Varma said, “The buzz around the film is 99% Hanuman ji and one per cent my content.”

‘HanuMan’ stars Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vinay Rai, and Raj Deepak Shetty in lead roles. The film is set to release on January 12, 2024.
