On the occasion of World Health Day, which falls today on October 10, celebrities across the world are focusing on the importance of mental well-being. Earlier in the day, Aamir Khan spoke how he and daughter Ira Khan have benefited from therap🐓y, and next up, joining them was none other than filmmaker Karan Johar, who opened up about his tryst with anxiety.
Revealing how he struggled with anxiety in 2015-2016,ไ Karan ment♔ioned that he again faced the issue earlier this year but he knew how to address it immediately.
Sharing a note, Karan mentioned how like many, he too felt that ‘this cannot happen to me’. He wrote how one never feels that it could come knocking on your doo🌟r. “But it can and it did… In 2015-2016 I felt the first burst of anxiety and knew within that something was wrong… My friend guided me to a psychologist and after a series of conversations I knew what I was dealing with and addressed it medically and with a change of lifest🐎yle…. Things got better and I weaned off the meds …,” Karan shared his experience with anxiety.
Karan also recalled how his anxiety came back this ye♈ar, and he knew the trig༒ger and decided to address it immediately. He further stated how those suffering from mental health should exercise caution about ‘simple solutions’ like “go for a drive !!! Meet friends !! Go for a holiday …. Get a massage …”, and one must be “educated enough in this zone” to even offer advice.
He concluded by saying, “To family members my advice is simply to make sure that the person going through it seeks professional help…We tend to address blood pressure , diabetes , etc with so much instant ease then why neglect mental health….More power to those brave ones who ackn🐟owledge the issue and address it head on… But to the millions who don’t … just know that there is a better life awaiting 🐲you…. All you need to do is reach out …”
On the work front, he made his comeback as a director with ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, and is now awaiting ꦬthe new season of ‘Koffee with Karan’.
