Meera Chopra made her Bollywood debut with ‘1920 London’, and recently starred in the Sandeep Singh directorial titled ‘Safed’. But most people might not be aware that she is the cousin of actors Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra.
Now in a recent interview, the actress mentioned that despite sharing a familial connection, the three ladies do not have that close bond or a sense oౠf ‘sisterhood’. She also mentioned how they did not support her or offer her any form of help when she entered the Bollywood industry.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Meera mentioned, “From the start, there was not much closeness between us, that we would look like friends here. That would be fake. But I can say that when three orꦫ four girls join the industry, they help each other. That did not happen to me. ꦜI never asked for help and the help never came from them. I am not the one that asks for help and even they never offered any help.” (Sic)
Recalling her childhood days, Meera said they were a very grand joint family and they all have lived in the same house for days. However, as per her, “jab koi bohot bada hojata hai toh baaki log chote lagte hai. (When someone ꦐbecomes too successful, others don’t seem t𒀰oo important.)”
Meera further revealed that she does share a great relationship with Pr🗹iyanka’s family and was part of he💯r wedding with Nick Jonas but with Parineeti, that is not the case. She mentioned that their families haven’t been on speaking terms for “ages,” and hence, she did not attend Parineeti-Raghav’s wedding.
“When families don’t talk, I don’t want to cross that which will hurt my family,” she said and added, “I am still very close to Priyanka’s family. I am trying to do a screening for Madhu chachi, because I really want to show her the film. They all wish very well for me. Priyanka has always been very generous, but the sisterhood is missing. But it is not missing ⛎from my side. She𒉰 is a girl with a golden heart,” Meera said.
Meanwhile, their other c🧜ousin, Mannara Chopra, is currently on Bigg Boss 17.
