💙The 16th Fazza International Para Athletics Championships in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will set the stage for the season’s highly anticipated opener at the Dubai Club for People of Determination.
ꦛAll eyes will be on Wen Xiaoyan, the standout name in China’s nine-member squad. A dominant force on the track, she secured four of her nine Paralympic gold medals in Paris last year.
🥃In Dubai, she will take on the women’s 100m T37—an event where she holds every major title, from world and Paralympic champion to world-record holder, thanks to her stunning 12.27-second sprint at the Kobe 2024 World Championships.
✃Hosts UAE will feature 64 athletes at the Dubai Grand Prix, including newcomers making their international debut. Missing from the lineup is veteran Mohammed Hammadi, who retired after the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
♓Leading the charge are Mohammed Othman, a Paris 2024 finalist in the men’s 100m T34, Rio 2016 bronze medallist Sara Aljneibi (women’s shot put F33), and homegrown talent Siham Alrasheedy (women’s discus throw F57).
♕India will have the largest visiting contingent at the Dubai Grand Prix, fielding a 30-member squad. Saudi Arabia follows with 24 athletes, while Japan will send a team of 18.
