Hole-In-One Keeps Ludvig Aberg Two Shots Off Patrick Rodgers At Genesis Invitational

Aberg struck a 140-yard pitching wedge on the third hole of Saturday's t꧟hird round, with the ball landing just past the hole before spinning back and in.

It was t♍he Swede's first hole-in-one in tournament play and helped him card a two-under 72 in round three, putting him at six under for the tourna🧸ment.

"It was a really cool moment," Aberg told Sky Sports after his penultimate round. "I've ne༒ver made a hole-in-one in tou𒆙rnament play before."

Aberg is third on the leaderboard, behind the American duo of Rodgers and Denny McCarthy, the former boasting a one-shot advantage over the latter at eight u🍃nder.

Rodgers, who shot a fo🌜ur-under-par 68 on Saturday, has never🐬 previously triumphed in 286 tournament starts on the PGA Tour.

He has entered the final round in the outright lead on four previous 🅷occasions, only to be surpassed at the last, but is determined to finally g🎀et over the line on Sunday.

"Whenever my name is mentioned, that's the first thing that everybody says, so it🍷's something that I have to d♛eal with," Rodgers said.

"I've struggled with it for a long time, but I feel like I'm viewing my career from a different vantage point now, and I'm excited🦄 about the opportunity to cross that finish line on Su𝓀nday."

Tommy Fleetwood is one of four playe💯rs at four under, while Rory McIlroy is just about still in contention, sitting five ♐shots off the lead after carding a two-over 74.

Four-time major champion McIlroy slipped as many as seven sho🉐ts off the lead at one point, but he closed with a birdie while Rodgers bogeyed the 18th, making up a couple of shots.
