"I know fake news is easy to spread but this made me laugh. Sources unreliable (sic)", he posted on his official X feed. Uncertainty mounts around Bumrah's participation for the Champions Trophy tournament starting in February.
༺A report in The Times of India revealed that the pacer had been advised bed rest amid no clarity on his diagnosis.
🎀The report stated that Bumrah, who's condition does not look positive, will have to report to BCCI's Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.
♓"Bumrah could go to the CoE next week but right now there is no fixed date yet. He has been advised bed rest at home to help the muscles recover and the swelling to subside. Once that is done, future course of action will be ascertained," a source told the newspaper.
ꦉHowever, the 31-year-old laughed off the report from a content aggregator on X, who later deleted the post after the former's reaction.
𒁏The report further adds that Bumrah, who has a swelling in his back, would not be rushed back to action and his return to competitive cricket, could take longer.
﷽"Bed rest doesn't sound good. I hope it's not a disc bulge or a muscle swelling which is of a higher grade. The approach has to be similar with him - wrap him in cotton wool and preserve the talent like him," added the source.
