Telangana Assembly Polls: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao Releases BRS's Manifesto, Promises Cheap Gas Cylinder And Hiked Pension

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and Telangana Ch🌌ief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday released the party manifesto and promised affordable cooking gas, increased pensions as part of the social s෴ecurity programme, and state-provided health insurance to the poor. 

Telangana is headed to polls on November 3💧0. The counting o🦂f votes will take place on December 3.

Releasing the manifesto, KCR, as K Chandraseꦬkhar Rao is widely called, also hailed his tenure so far. He said he went much beyond the last election's manifesto. 

KCR said his government implemented 90 per cent of the💞 welfare schemes though they were not mentio🌱ned in the manifesto for the previous elections, reported PTI.

KCR said that Telangana became the number one state in per capita inco🐎me and power consumption among other aspects under his government, according to PTI, which added that he also promised to continue the government's policies with regard to power and agriculture and said that, if required, stimulus will be given. 

What all did KCR promise?

In th🐼e BRS's manifesto, KCR promised to provide affordable cooking gas and increase pensions under the social security programmes. 

• KCR promised to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 400 each 
   
• KCR said all below-poverty-line (BPL) families would be provided Rs 5 lakh health insurance cover by the government. The PTI reported around 93 lakh families would benefit from the scheme.
  
  Moreover, the manifesto also promised to increase the coverage under the 'Arogya Sri' health scheme to Rs 15 lakh from Rs 5 lah, reported PTI.
   
• The social security pension would be increased to Rs 5,000 a month from Rs 2,106, reported PTI, adding that disability pension would also be increased from Rs 4,016 to Rs 6,016.
   
• The 'Rythu Bandhu' scheme in which farmers get Rs 10,000 per annum per acre would be enhanced gradually to Rs 16,000 per annum in the next five years, reported PTI.
