Former Chairperson of the Indian National Congress 🐻(INC) Sonia Gandhi, wrote a lengthy letter to party members during the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Belagavi, Karnataka. Regretting her absence, Gandhi reminded the Congress family of the significance of the 1936 Congress meeting in Belagavi. Setting the tone for the CWC sessions, she urged the Congress fraternity to protect the values Mahatma Gandhi fought for.

ꦆ"Today, we rededicate ourselves to preserve, protect and promote the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. He has been and will continue to be the fundamental source of our inspiration. It was he who moulded and guided all our remarkable galaxy of leaders of that generation," expressed the CPP chief. She added that Mahatma's legacy is under threat from those in power in New Delhi and the ideologies and institutions that have nurtured them.

The extended CWC meeting, held at the same venue where Mahatma Gandhi presided over the Congress ♑a century ago, aimed to reaffirm the party's commitment to upholding constitutional values and Gandhian ideals.

Earlier today, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP 🎃of deliberately weakening democratic institutions at the Congress Working Committee's (CWC) "Nav Satyagraha Baithak" in Belagavi, as the party commemorated the centenary of Mahatma Gandhi’s 1924 presidency.

𝓀The Congress President also voiced concerns about a growing mistrust in the electoral process. "People’s faith in the electoral process is steadily declining, and questions are being raised about the impartiality of the Election Commission," said Kharge.
