𒅌British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran's has broken his silence after his street performance in Bengaluru was halted by police on Sunday.

𒊎Taking to his Instagram Story, the Grammy-winning singer wrote, "We had permission to busk, by the way. Hence, us playing in that exact spot was planned out beforehand. It wasn't just us randomly turning up. All good though. See you at the show tonight x''.

What happened during Ed Sheeran's live performance in Bengaluru?

On Sunday, Ed was performing live at Church Street. But minutes after he started singing his chartbuster Shape Of You, Bengaluru Police 🀅stopped the show midway by pulling the plug on singer's microphone and musical instruments.

✅A video of the singer went viral on social media where he was saying, "We were going to play more than one song, but we're being asked to play one song''.

🙈Authorities stated that the event lacked official permission, and the performance was stopped due to traffic concerns.

🍃As per a report in ANI, speaking to the news agency, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shekar T Tekkannanavar said, "A member among the event organisers came to meet me to seek permission for the Streetside performance at Church Street. I refused to give permission because Church Street gets very crowded. That is the reason he was asked to vacate the place."

🌠Ed Sheeran is currently in India for his The Mathematics (+-=÷x) Tour. His latest performance was in Bengaluru. His next concerts are in Shillong and Delhi-NCR.
